From the desk of the President:
Greetings Fellow members: For those of you who missed the grand opening of our new room, I would like to invite you to stop by and see the transformation that took place, and to enjoy the new room. I would like to thank those who assisted in making this new room a reality, Dave Chalmers, Bonnie Russell, Carol Mele, Ann Parillo, Russell Harrington, and Ellen Branigan. These volunteers stepped up and helped to paint the room. Dave came in early and painted all the trim and was done by 9:00 a.m. when the crew arrived to paint, two coats were applied in one day. Everyone did a fine job and their efforts are greatly appreciated. A special shout out to member Russell Harrington, who came back and painted our bathroom and installed shelving. He also spent four days with assistance from member Ellen Branigan and erected a storage shed for us. After painting was done we had the rug removed and a crew came in to install a vinyl floor. While moving back in we set up a new floor plan to give us a whole new look. A nice event was held on December Third for people to attend and see the room, meet their board, enjoy finger foods, and a concert by Don Hyman. We had a wonderful turnout of almost fifty people. A nice night had by all as volunteers were recognized, a poem written and read by newsletter contributor Ed Bardon. The poem is in this issue of the newsletter for you to enjoy. We also had a special moment as Singles Outreach Services Inc. dedicated the new room to our founder and friend Gregg Baldwin Millett. The plaque was presented to Ann Parillo who then hung it in our new community room. The plaque reads as follows: “On this the third day of December 2021 we at Singles Outreach Services lovingly dedicate our new community room to our Founder and Friend. Gregg Baldwin Millett PhD.” In closing I wish to thank again all of those who volunteered, and to thank all our members for if it wasn’t for your support none of this would have been possible.
