Reports from the Front
March was a fun month here at Singles Outreach. Many well attended events were shared and enjoyed by friends. Some of the highlights were a concert performed by a favorite entertainer of ours Don “The Soulman” Hyman. We also met for a dinner out at Delmonico’s Restaurant. On Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day many of us gathered for a corned beef and cabbage dinner. Exciting April March was fun with the events aforementioned plus other activities we did, too numerous to mention. April looks to be a lot busier, trying to include something for everyone. You can check out our complete newsletter on this website. Our April Highlights are Dining adventures to Blue Ribbon, Metro 7 Diner, Capital City Diner, and Blessings. We are also going to see the Albany Bombers hockey team play. We are also hosting a T.V. game night and a sing along concert with keyboardists and guitarists, which will be a free event. We have two speakers presenting on Sunday Afternoons. One is Sandra Balink speaking on fall prevention, and Paula Fidalgo, who is a Positive Psychology Practitioner. Singer Al Lawerence will be returning at the end of the month. Al sings a wide variety of songs for your enjoyment. We will also be hosting a “Titanic Party”, Plus many of our regular activities, including discussions, dining, games and more. Come check it out. "SHOW YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD AT ALL EVENTS". Look for your card and keep it in your wallet. You will be asked for it at each event. We will continue this throughout the year.
In February the International Center of the Capital Region held a Taste of the World event in our Community Room. The Chefs came from Keobi Restaurant on Lark St. in Albany. They prepared a fabulous meal in front of us, explaining what they did as they prepared the meal. Then the meal was served to everyone in the room with even seconds available. This was a fun event and a good time was had by all.
