About the Organization

Singles Outreach Support began in 1983 as a discussion group and support group for singles led by Gregg Millett. As more and more people joined these groups and additional activities were added to the calendar, a few early participants worked together with Gregg to steer the movement toward a formalized, not-for-profit organization. The new organization, Singles Outreach Services, Inc. was founded as a nonprofit corporation in 1985. The founding Board members were Larry Klepper, Esq., Lois Haignere, Ph.D., Randy Fasnacht, and Gregg Millett, Ph.D. The organization joined and continues to hold membership in the Council of Community Services of New York. The purposes of Singles Outreach include the promotion of a comprehensive program of activities designed to provide adult singles with opportunities for personal growth, social interaction and cultural enrichment and such other services that promote the welfare of adult singles and the singles community.
